Do I need the internet to play?
No. Download the file once and it runs offline in your browser. The narration uses the voices already built into your computer, so it works on a laptop with no signal.
What do I need to run it?
A laptop or desktop with Chrome or Edge, and sound turned on. Windows, Mac, Linux and Chromebooks all work. One screen everyone can see is ideal — a TV or projector works well too.
Do I have to print anything?
No, the whole room can be played on screen. Printing the evidence pack is optional, and it's what makes it feel like a real escape room: sealed file covers you open one at a time, with the documents inside.
How many people can play?
One to six around a single screen. Three or four is the sweet spot: enough eyes for the documents, few enough that everyone gets a turn.
How long does it take?
Each room is a 30-minute timer, plus roughly five to ten minutes of story and setup before the clock starts. Allow about 45 minutes in total.
Can we play it more than once?
Yes. Every game code generates a different case: different numbers, a different culprit, different answers. The puzzles stay the same shape, so a group who has played before can host for friends without spoiling it.
What age is it for?
Best for about 12 and up. The puzzles involve careful reading, arithmetic and cross-referencing documents. Younger players have a great time as part of a team.
What if we get completely stuck?
There's a built-in hint button that nudges without giving the answer away, at the cost of time. Hosts also get a panel with every answer, a pause button and a +5 minutes button.
Can someone deaf or hard of hearing play?
Yes. All narration is also printed on screen as text. Crush Depth has one puzzle based on knocking sounds, and the same knocks are drawn as a printed chart you can read instead.
How is it delivered, and what about refunds?
You get an instant download link after payment. Because it's a digital file the download starts straight away, so the usual cooling-off period doesn't apply — but if it won't run on your machine, email me within 14 days and I'll refund you.
